DUALITY
Duality emerged during a period of transition in the artist'’s life.
At the time, nothing felt fully settled. She was moving between different states, drawn to stability while also feeling the need for change. That tension naturally shaped the work. Each piece is built slowly, by hand, using plaster, papier-mâché and discarded materials. Through layering, carving, and reworking, the forms are brought to a point of balance, even when they retain a sense of instability.
Some works feel contained, others more fragmented or on the verge of collapse. This variation is not imposed, but reflects the state in which they were made. The works resist fixed function or clear categorisation. They sit somewhere between object and presence, inviting an experience rather than a defined reading. Rather than resolving opposites, Duality holds them, allowing form to emerge from a space of transition.
WALL WORKS
Wall-based pieces developed through layering and reworking.
The surfaces carry traces of the process. Built up, interrupted, and held in a state that feels both resolved and slightly unsettled.
