Part of Mémoire Bleue, the Aurora Side Table in Patchwork explores the relationship between surface and sculptural form. Its classical proportions and softened curves create a restrained silhouette, allowing fields of blue and off-white stripes to take focus as they shift in scale and direction across each plane.

 

A cleaner, more defined treatment distinguishes the piece from the collection’s more weathered surfaces. The patchwork unfolds as you move around the form, its fragmented composition echoing the collection’s exploration of memory, while subtle irregularities retain the traces of making.
